     Lt.-Gen. Cyril Francis Tyrrel Murray was born on 19 January 1863.1 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Alexander Henry Murray and Martha Frances Vincent Davenport.2 He married Helen Edith Grogan, daughter of Reverend George William Grogan, on 10 February 1887.1 He died on 2 July 1929 at age 66.1
     Lt.-Gen. Cyril Francis Tyrrel Murray fought in the Miranzai Expedition in 1891.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1897 and 1898.1 He fought in the Tirah Expedition in 1898, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was invested as a Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1911.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Indiam Army.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1916.1

     Colonel Cyril Alexander George Octavius Murray was born on 19 November 1887.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Cyril Francis Tyrrel Murray and Helen Edith Grogan.2 He married Marjorie Lilias Milles, daughter of W. Jennings Milles, on 4 May 1922.1 He died on 15 June 1960 at age 72.1
     Colonel Cyril Alexander George Octavius Murray fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the Croix de Guerre.1 He was decorated with the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.1 He gained the rank of Commander between 1936 and 1939 in the service of the 155 (East Scottish) Infantry Brigade (Territorial Army).1 He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier in 1945.1
