William Ancketill was born on 16 March 1851.1 He was the son of Major Matthew John Anketell and Catherine Frances Anne Ker.1 He married Jean Laing Falkner, daughter of Robert Falkner, on 15 July 1875.1 He died on 5 July 1931 at age 80.1
