     Mary Agnes Shannon was the daughter of Oliver Shannon and Mary Theresa Murphy.1 She married Richard Ball, son of Laurence Ball and Catherine Jordan, in 1853.1 She died on 4 April 1914.1
     From 1853, her married name became Ball.1

     Laurence Francis Ball was born on 12 October 1856.1 He was the son of Richard Ball and Mary Agnes Shannon.1 He married Mary Gargan, daughter of Patrick Gargan, in 1889.1 He died in 1934.1
     Laurence Francis Ball was educated at Tullabeg College.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kildare.1 He lived at Dowdstown, Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland.1

     Captain Richard Joseph Ball was born on 3 April 1890.1 He was the son of Laurence Francis Ball and Mary Gargan.1 He married Olive Cloherty, daughter of Gerald Cloherty, in June 1925.1 He died on 17 March 1951 at age 60.1
     Captain Richard Joseph Ball was educated at Clongowes Wood College, S.J., Clane, County Kildare, Ireland.1 He fought in the First World War, as a Captain with the Royal Engineers.1
