     Rowland Broughton Berkeley was born on 30 June 1883.2 He was the son of Rowland Comyns Berkeley and Mildred Caroline Paris.1 He married Ada Constance Fairhead, daughter of Henry Fairhead, in 1911.2
     Rowland Broughton Berkeley gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.2 In 1932 he sold the greater part of the Cotheridge estate.2 He lived at Cotheridge Court, Worcestershire, England.2
