     Cornelius Metcalfe is the son of Reverend Thomas Metcalfe.1 He married Sarah Bayley, daughter of Samuel Bayley and Esther Diggles, in December 1773 at Collegiate Church, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1
     Cornelius Metcalfe lived between 1791 and 1795 at France.1 In 1793 at Rouen, France, they were arrested along with their three children, and their proerty confiscated for the benefit of the Republic.1
