     George Gillespie Beamish was born on 3 January 1901.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alten Augustus William Beamish and May Ross Gillepsie.1 He married Katharine Isabel Monro, daughter of Archibald Vere Monro and Isabel Mary Young, on 26 April 1930.1 He died on 9 December 1965 at age 64.1
     George Gillespie Beamish was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1922 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was employed by London Assurance in 1925.1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1929 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was made Secretary of London Assurance in 1937.1 He was made the Deputy General Manager of London Assurance in 1949.1
