Richard Nugent, 3rd Baron Delvin was the son of Christopher Nugent, 2nd Baron Delvin and Hon. Anne Preston.1 He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth FitzGerald, daughter of Gerald FitzGerald, 8th Earl of Kildare and Alison Eustace.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth St. Lawrence, daughter of Nicholas St. Lawrence, 3rd Baron Howth.1 He died on 28 February 1537/38.1
He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Delvin [I., 1451] in 1478.1 In 1489 he was among 11 peers summoned to Greenwich.1 He held the office of Vice-Deputy [Ireland] from 1527 to 1528.1

Thomas Butler, 1st Baron Dunboyne was the son of Theobald Butler and Joan fitz John. He married Synolda le Petit, daughter of William le Petit.1 He died on 9 October 1329, killed in action, by the MacGheoghan.1
He was also known as Thomas le Botiller.1 In 1324 he was called to the Irish Parliament (as were intermittently his descendants in the succeeding two centuries before the creation of the Barony of Dunboyne as a lordship of Parl by patent 1541), whereby what in England might have been regarded as a feudal lordship beca.1 He was created 1st Baron Dunboyne [Ireland] in 1324, by prescription.1 He fought in the Battle of Ardnurcher on 9 October 1329.1
