     James Tottenham Butler was born on 4 June 1868.1 He was the son of James Butler and Mary Elizabeth Alley.1 He married Geraldine Osborne, daughter of Henry St. George Osborne, in 1906.1 He died, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 5th Battalion, Leinster Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at Priestown, Ireland.1

     Frances Isabel Butler was born on 8 November 1875 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1,2 She was the daughter of James Butler and Mary Elizabeth Alley.1 She married Ernest Pitman, son of Sir Isaac Pitman and Isabella Masters, on 22 July 1896 at Hungerford, Berkshire, England.1 She died on 25 November 1957 at age 82.1
      From 22 July 1896, her married name became Pitman.

     Ernest Pitman was born on 30 August 1864.2 He was the son of Sir Isaac Pitman and Isabella Masters.2 He married Frances Isabel Butler, daughter of James Butler and Mary Elizabeth Alley, on 22 July 1896 at Hungerford, Berkshire, England.1 He died on 7 August 1948 at age 83 at Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England.1,3
     He lived at The Cottage, Dyrham, Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.4
