     Richard Butler was the son of James Butler and Dorothea Steele.1 He married Martha Rothwell, daughter of Richard Rothwell, in 1792.1 He died in 1841.1
     Richard Butler graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.). He was the Vicar at Barnchurch, County Kilkenny, Ireland.1
