     Susannah Caroline Hyde Gardner was born on 4 February 1927.3 She was the daughter of Major Philip Charles Gardner and Constance Eillen Cox.1,3 She married Robert Leslie Eustace Maude, 8th Viscount Hawarden, son of Eustace Wyndham Maude, 7th Viscount Hawarden and Marion Wright, on 28 September 1957.1 She died on 17 July 2008 at age 81.3
     From 28 September 1957, her married name became Maude.1 After her marriage, Susannah Caroline Hyde Gardner was styled as Viscountess Hawarden on 6 April 1958. She lived in 2003 at The Chicken House, Canterbury Road, Wingham, Kent, EnglandG.1

     Major Philip Charles Gardner was born on 30 July 1883.2 He was the son of Alan Hyde Gardner and Elizabeth Bult.3 He married, firstly, Dorothy Margaret Mullock, daughter of William Mullock, on 30 May 1910.2 He married, secondly, Constance Eillen Cox, daughter of Major Charles Hay Cox, on 5 November 1924.2 He died in 1932.3
     He gained the rank of Major in the Indian Army.2 He lived at Shanklin, Isle of Wight, England.3

     Margaret Christian Garnett was born on 28 January 1913 at Manchester, Lancashire, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of James Clerk Maxwell Garnett.1 She married Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay, son of Edward Aubrey Hastings Jay, in 1933 at Hampstead Parish Church, Hampstead, London, EnglandG.1 She and Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay were divorced in 1972.1 She died on 21 January 2008 at age 94.1
     Margaret Christian Garnett also went by the nick-name of Peggy.1 From 1933, her married name became Jay.1

     He held the office of Ambassador to the U.S.A.1
