     Timothy Robertson Bruce was born on 18 April 1942.1 He is the son of Captain Hon. John Bernard Bruce and Helen Rachel Rawstorne.2,3 He married, firstly, Diana Olivia Tibbitt, daughter of Raymond Tibbitt, on 20 May 1972.1 He and Diana Olivia Tibbitt were divorced in 1983.1 He married, secondly, Susan Mary Carnegie, daughter of John Fraser Carnegie and Gunhild Aline Avalon Mackinnon, in 1998.1 He and Susan Mary Carnegie were divorced in 2002.1
     Timothy Robertson Bruce was adopted by Captain Hon. John Bernard Bruce and Mary Burrows.3 He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.1 He lived in 2003 at The Old Rectory, Combs, Stowmarket, Suffolk, England.1
