     William St. George Nugent, 10th Earl of Westmeath was born on 28 November 1832.3 He was the son of Anthony Francis Nugent, 9th Earl of Westmeath and Anne Catherine Daly.3 He married Emily Margaret Blake, daughter of Andrew William Blake and Maria Julia Daly, on 24 July 1866.1 He died on 31 May 1883 at age 50.1
     He was educated at Oscott College, Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England.3 He fought in the Captain, 9th Foot.3 He fought in the Crimean War.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Galway in 1875.3 He succeeded to the title of 10th Earl of Westmeath [I., 1621] on 12 May 1879.3 He succeeded to the title of 15th Baron Delvin [I., 1451] on 12 May 1879.3
