Thomas Blake was the son of Valentine Blake and Eveline Lynch.1,2 He died on 20 January 1574.1 An inquest post mortem was held for his on 21 July 1576.2

Sir Francis Blake, 1st Bt. was born circa 1709.2 He was the son of Robert Blake and Sarah Blake.1,2 He married Isabel Ayton, daughter of Samuel Ayton, before 1734.2 He died on 29 March 1780 at Tinmouth, England.2 He was buried at Houghton-le-Spring, County Durham, England.2
He matriculated at Lincoln College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 1 July 1725.2 In 1745 he took an active part in supporting the Government during the Jacobite Uprising.2 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1746.2 He was created 1st Baronet Blake, of Twisel Castle, co. Durham [Great Britain] on 25 May 1774.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
