     Lieutenant David Edmund Cole-Hamilton was born on 6 April 1914.1 He was the son of Venerable Richard Mervyn Cole-Hamilton and Margaret Bennett.1 He married Anne Cole-Hamilton, daughter of George William Cole-Hamilton and Katherine Edith Clinton-Baker, on 2 July 1938.2 He died in July 1942 at age 28, killed on active service in the Mediterranean.2
     Lieutenant David Edmund Cole-Hamilton gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was decorated with the award of Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) (and bar (1942)) in 1941.1
