Lieutenant Humphrey Loftus Bland was born on 9 April 1869.1 He was the son of Captain John Loftus Bland and Alice Hotham.1 He married Muriel Elsie Scott, daughter of John Scott, on 16 May 1900.1 He died on 24 February 1929 at age 59.1
Lieutenant Humphrey Loftus Bland gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 5th Fusiliers.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Wicklow in 1805, (this date must be incorrect since he was not born until 1869).1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Leix in 1912.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at Blandsfort, Abbeyleix, County Laois, Ireland.1
