     William Cotts was born on 2 March 1812.1 He was the son of John Coutts and Agnes Kennon.2 He married, firstly, Mary Wright on 23 December 1831.1 He married Marion Russell in 1838.1 He died on 5 April 1878 at age 66.1
     William Cotts was baptised with the name of William Coutts.1 He lived at Sanquhar, Scotland.1
