     Maj.-Gen. David Crichton was the son of Abraham Crichton and Mary Spottiswoode.¹ He married Katherine Southwell, daughter of Richard Southwell and Lady Elizabeth O'Brien, before 1695.¹ He died on 1 June 1728.¹
