     Peter Doig was born on 4 August 1838 at Thornhill, Stirlingshire, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of John Doig and Janet McFarlane.² He was christened on 22 October 1838 at Kilmadock, Stirlingshire, Scotland^G.³ He married Margaret Dick on 5 April 1861.¹ He died on 21 July 1912 at age 73 at Kenmuir Farm, Chertsey, Canterbury, New Zealand^G.^1,4 He was buried at Rakaia Cemetery, Rakaia, Canterbury, New Zealand^G, plot 30.⁴ His estate was probated on 29 July 1912 at Chertsey, Canterbury, New Zealand^G.⁵
     He was a ploughman in April 1861 at Craighead Farm, Kippen Road, Kilmadock, Stirlingshire, Scotland^G.⁶ Peter, Margaret and Paul and Margaret Dick immigrated to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand^G, on the ship Chrysolite, arriving on 27 July 1861.^2,7 He was a farmer. Peter first purchased 580 acres in 1877, and Wentworth farm near Chertsey. Several years later he bought the adjoining farm, Kenmuir. By 1882 he owned 1180 acres, and eventually owned 3600 acres. in 1877 at Kenmuir Farm, Chertsey, Canterbury, New Zealand^G.⁶

     Margaret Dick was born on 17 July 1842 at Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland^G.¹ She married Peter Doig, son of John Doig and Janet McFarlane, on 5 April 1861.¹ She died on 24 May 1925 at age 82 at Kenmuir Farm, Chertsey, Canterbury, New Zealand^G.^1,2 She was buried at Rakaia Cemetery, Rakaia, Canterbury, New Zealand^G, plot 30.² Her estate was probated on 31 March 1925 at Chertsey, Canterbury, New Zealand^G.³
     From 5 April 1861, her married name became Doig.¹ Peter, Margaret and Paul and Peter Doig immigrated to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand^G, on the ship Chrysolite, arriving on 27 July 1861.^4,5

     Margaret Jean Lorimer Doig was born on 24 December 1902 at Christchurch, New Zealand^G.^1,2 She was the daughter of John Doig and Jean Ann Ironside.¹ She married Walter John Halliday on 17 April 1929.¹ She died on 3 September 1991 at age 88.¹
     Margaret Jean Lorimer Doig also went by the nick-name of Daisy.³ From 17 April 1929, her married name became Halliday.¹

     Eileen Helen Doig was born on 22 August 1910 at Ashburton, New Zealand^G.^1,2 She was the daughter of John Doig and Jean Ann Ironside.¹ She married Archibald John Cameron on 26 December 1932.¹ She died on 15 May 1986 at age 75.¹
     From 26 December 1932, her married name became Cameron.¹

     Archibald John Cameron was born on 23 August 1910.¹ He married Eileen Helen Doig, daughter of John Doig and Jean Ann Ironside, on 26 December 1932.¹ He died on 19 December 1993 at age 83.¹

     Thomas Doig was born on 28 March 1865 at Moeraki Downs, Cust, Canterbury, New Zealand^G.¹ He was the son of Peter Doig and Margaret Dick.¹ He married Eliza Ann Strachan, daughter of William Strachan and Ann Barber, on 12 June 1888.¹ He died on 7 June 1929 at age 64.¹ His estate was probated on 1 July 1929 at Ashburton, New Zealand^G.²
