     Christopher and Elizabeth Hampton immigrated to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand on the ship Waitangi, arriving on 1876.3

     David Hampton was born in 1860 at Ireland.2 He was the son of David Hampton and Elizabeth Hampton.1 He married Mary Wilson Thompson in 1889.1,3 He died on 23 July 1945.4 He was buried at Methven Public Cemetery, Methven, Canterbury, New Zealand, plot 106.4
     David immigrated with an unknown person parents to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand, on the ship Waitangi, arriving 1876.5

     Mary Wilson Thompson was born in 1864.2 She married David Hampton, son of David Hampton and Elizabeth Hampton, in 1889.3,4 She died on 12 May 1945.2 She was buried at Methven Public Cemetery, Methven, Canterbury, New Zealand, plot 106.2
     From 1889, her married name became Hampton.3

     Mary Evelyn Hampton was born in 1892 at Christchurch, New Zealand.3 She is the daughter of David Hampton and Mary Wilson Thompson.1 She married Joseph Palmer Turnbull in July 1917.4
     Mary Evelyn Hampton also went by the nick-name of Eva Hampton.1 She was a nurse in 1917 at Hanmer Springs, Canterbury, New Zealand.5 From July 1917, her married name became Turnbull.1 She has an extensive biographical entry in the Eva discovered moa bones in a limestone cave near the farm at Kiawaka.5

Joseph Palmer Turnbull1,2

     Joseph Palmer Turnbull married Mary Evelyn Hampton, daughter of David Hampton and Mary Wilson Thompson, in July 1917.3 He died on 26 September 1945.4
     Joseph served in the Canterbury Mounted Rifles, 1st NZEF in 1914. He took part in the Gallipoli landings, and was wounded that day. He was evacuated to Lemmas Island where he recovered and returned to Gallipoli, being wounded a second time..3 He was a farmer after 1917 at Kiawaka, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, His farm was drawn in a ballot for war veterans..4
