     Phoebe Kate Allen was born on 10 March 1870 at Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia.1 She was the daughter of John Kennedy Allen and Phoebe Jane Abbott.1 She married John Hamilton Shaw, son of John Alexander Shaw and Juliet Elizabeth Mead, on 20 November 1895 at George Street, Rockdale, New South Wales, Australia.1 She died on 3 March 1945 at age 74.1
     From 20 November 1895, her married name became Shaw.1
