Ronald William Minchin was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was commissioned in 1966, in the service of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1972.1 He lived in 1976 at Cruxfield House, Duns, Berwickshire, Scotland.1
