Brig.-Gen. Henry de Courcy O'Grady was born on 26 August 1873.1 He was the son of Standish de Courcy O'Grady and Isabella Shepherd.1 He married Annie Sybil Macpherson, daughter of Colonel Duncan Macpherson, on 3 February 1908.1 He died on 23 February 1949 at age 75.1
Brig.-Gen. Henry de Courcy O'Grady was educated at Tonbridge School, Tonbridge, Kent, England.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1902.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1908, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the service of the Indian Army.1 He was decorated with the award of Officer, Legion of Honour.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1919.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1919, where he was mentioned in despatches.1
