     Simon le Poer married Margaret de Cogan, daughter of Miles de Cogan.1
     In 1190 he held, in right of his wife, the de Cogan half of Desmond, of which Kinsale was the caput (administrative centre).1

     Miles de Cogan died in 1182, killed by native Irish.1
     He was also known as Milo.1 In 1177 he took a leading part in the 12th–century Anglo/Cambro-Norman incursion into Ireland and was granted by King Henry II a territory called the 'Kingdom of Cork', jointly with Robert fitz Stephen.1

     Margaret de Cogan was the daughter of Miles de Cogan.2 She married, firstly, Ralph (?), son of Robert fitz Stephen.1 She married, secondly, Simon le Poer.1 She married, thirdly, unknown de Courcy.1 She married, fourthly, Thomas Bloet.1 She died before 17 July 1221.1

     Miles de Courcy was the son of Patrick de Courcy and Nesta (?).2 He married Annora de Burgo, daughter of Richard de Burgo.1 He died circa 1290.1
     He was feudal Lord Kinsale and Ringrone.1 He was overlord of half the Kingdom of Cork.1 On 29 September 1261 in defending the Castle of Kinsale and Ringrone he killed Fineen MacCarthy, King of Desmond.1

     Patrick de Courcy was the son of Miles de Courcy and Annora de Burgo.1 He died in 1291, killed by Donal 'Og' MacCarthy and Donal 'Baisneach' MacCarthy.1
