     William de Prendergast is the son of Philip de Prendergast and Maude de Quincy.2 He married Alianore de Bermingham, daughter of William de Bermingham.1
     William de Prendergast was he obtained the tuath of Eskertevene, later called the feudal Lordship of Newcastle, County Tipperary, from Geoffrey de Marisco (alias Mareiss), in exchange for the tuath of Mahoonagh, County Limerick circa 1230.1
