     Walter Giffard is the son of Robert Giffard and unknown de Warenne.2 He married Matilda (?).1
     He made grants of land to Plympton Priory jointly with his mother.1 Between 1155 and 1162 he confirmed by charter his father's grants to Tavistock Abbey and added his own.1 From 1161 to 1162 with his wife and brother Roger as witnesses, he confirmed his uncle's grant of the Church of Bridgerule to Tavistock Abbey.1
