     Lt.-Col. Henry William Newton Guinness was born on 5 August 1854.1 He was the son of Reverend William Newton Guinness and Harriet F. Day.2 He married Frances Helen West, daughter of Henry West, on 8 April 1893.1 He died on 5 August 1925 at age 71.1
     He was educated at Newton Abbot School, Newton Abbot, Devon, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1873, in the service of the 18th Regiment.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1880.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1881 in the Royal Irish Regiment.1 He fought in the Nile Expedition between 1884 and 1885, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Major in 1885.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1889.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1900.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He had two other sons.1

     Captain Eustace John Guinness was born in 1897.1 He was the son of Ernest Whitmore Guinness and Annie Macnaught.2 He married Angela Beryl Hoare, daughter of Henry Hoare and Lady Geraldine Mariana Hervey, on 31 October 1946.1
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1
