     Sir George Granville Leveson-Gower was born on 19 May 1858.1 He was the son of Hon. Edward Frederick Leveson-Gower and Lady Margaret Compton.1 He married Hon. Adelaide Violet Cicely Monson, daughter of Debonnaire John Monson, 8th Baron Monson and Augusta Louisa Caroline Ellis, on 9 June 1898.1 He died on 18 July 1951 at age 93.1
     Sir George Granville Leveson-Gower graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was Private Secretary to the Prime Minister between 1880 and 1885.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for North-West Staffordshire between 1885 and 1886.1 He held the office of Junior Lord of Treasury in 1886.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stoke-upon-Trent between 1890 and 1895.1 He held the office of Comptroller of the Household between 1892 and 1895.1 He held the office of Commissioner of Woods and Forests between 1908 and 1924.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1921.1 He had two younger daughters, who both died unmarried.1
