     Thomas Hamilton of Prestfield was the son of Thomas Hamilton of Orchardfield and Priestfield and Margaret Cant.1 He married Elizabeth Leslie, daughter of Robert Leslie of Innerpeffer.1 He died on 10 September 1547 at Pinkie, Scotland, killed in action.1
     Thomas Hamilton of Prestfield held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh on 29 April 1541.2

     Thomas Hamilton of Orchardfield and Priestfield was the son of Alexander Hamilton of Ballencrieff and Innerwick and Isobel Shaw.1 He married Margaret Cant, daughter of unknown Cant.1 He died circa 1537.1
     Thomas Hamilton of Orchardfield and Priestfield held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh.1 He purchased Orchardton in 1522.1 He purchased Prestfield from his brother-in-law in 1523.1

     On 18 November 1465 he had a charter for Ballencrieff.1

     Sir Archibald Hamilton of Ballencrieff and Innerwick is the son of Sir Alexander Hamilton of Ballencrieff and Innerwick and Elizabeth Stewart.2 He married Margaret Montgomerie, daughter of John Montgomerie of Thornton.1
     On 10 May 1458 he had a charter for Ballencrieff from John Stewart, Lord Darnley.1

     Her married name became Hamilton.1 From after 1547, her married name became Hutson.1

     John fitz Walter Hamilton of Ballencrieff is the son of Sir Walter fitz Gilbert Hamilton, 1st of Cadzow.1 He married Elizabeth Stewart, daughter of Sir Alan Stewart of Darnley and Crookston.1
     On 15 January 1369 he had a charter for Ballencrieff, in the Barony of Bathgate, Lothain,, from his wife's brother, John.1 He was living on 17 February 1383/84.1
