     Sir Thomas Randolph Houstoun-Boswall of Blackadder, 5th Bt. was born on 5 February 1882.1 He was the son of Sir George Lauderdale Houstoun-Boswall of Blackadder, 3rd Bt. and Phoebe Allan.2 He married Edith Mary Salter, daughter of Jarvis Salter, on 8 February 1912.1 He died on 4 December 1953 at age 71.1
     Sir Thomas Randolph Houstoun-Boswall of Blackadder, 5th Bt. gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 14th Service Battalion, Royal Scots, formerly 3rd Battalion.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Houstoun, of Calderhall [U.K., 1836] on 27 September 1915.1
