     Andrew Houstoun of Calderhaugh was born on 25 December 1702.1 He was the son of Andrew Houstoun of Calderhall and Isabel Elphinston.2 He married Nellie Waddell.1 He died on 28 July 1786 at age 83.1

     General Sir William Houstoun of Calderhall, 1st Bt. was born on 10 August 1766.1 He was the son of Andrew Houstoun of Calderhaugh and Nellie Waddell.2 He married Lady Jane Maitland, daughter of James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale and Mary Lombe, on 5 November 1808.1 He died on 8 April 1842 at age 75.1
     General Sir William Houstoun of Calderhall, 1st Bt. gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 20th Regiment.1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.).1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.).1 He was created 1st Baronet Houstoun, of Calderhall [U.K.] on 19 July 1836.1
