     Sir William Quartus Ewart, 2nd Bt. was born on 14 June 1844.1 He was the son of Sir William Ewart, 1st Bt. and Isabella Kelso Mathewson.2 He married Mary Warren Heard, daughter of Robert Heard, on 23 November 1876.1 He died on 17 October 1919 at age 75.1
     Sir William Quartus Ewart, 2nd Bt. was invested as a Knight of Grace, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.).1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was head of William Ewart & Son.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Belfast.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Down.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Ewart, of Glenmachan, co. Down [U.K., 1887] on 1 August 1889.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Antrim in 1897.1 He lived at Glenmachan, County Down, Ireland.1
