     Sir John Davie Ferguson Davie, 2nd Bt. was born on 27 October 1830.1 He was the son of General Sir Henry Robert Ferguson Davie, 1st Bt. and Frances Juliana Davie.2 He married Edwina Augusta Williams, daughter of Sir James Hamlyn Williams, 3rd Bt., on 17 March 1857.1 He died on 16 June 1907 at age 76.1
     Sir John Davie Ferguson Davie, 2nd Bt. gained the rank of Captain in 1855 in the service of the Grenadier Guards.1 He fought in the Crimean War in 1855.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Barnstaple between 1859 and 1865.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Carmarthenshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Carmarthenshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Devon.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Carmarthshire in 1873.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 1st Devon Militia.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Ferguson Davie, of Creedy, co. Devon [U.K., 1847] on 30 November 1885.1

     From 17 March 1857, her married name became Ferguson Davie.
