     Donald Fawcett Horsfall was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Leicestershire, England.¹ He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1937 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 6th Battalion, Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment.¹ He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1941 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He was decorated with the award of Territorial Decoration (T.D.).¹

     Michael Fawcett Horsfall was born on 8 May 1948.¹ He is the son of Donald Fawcett Horsfall and Jeanne Elizabeth Smith.² He married Elizabeth Anne Pickthall, daughter of Isaac Pickthall, in 1979.¹
     Michael Fawcett Horsfall was educated at Giggleswick Grammar School.¹ He lived in 2003 at Waulkmill, Strachan, Kincardineshire, Scotland.¹
