Sir Malby Richard Henry Crofton, 4th Bt. was born on 18 September 1881.1 He was the son of Sir Malby Crofton, 3rd Bt. and Louisa Margaret Verschoyle.1 He married Katharine Beatrix Pollard, daughter of George Sturges Pollard, on 17 September 1918.1 He died on 21 January 1962 at age 80.1
Sir Malby Richard Henry Crofton, 4th Bt. fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice, and was wounded four times.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.1 He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) (and bar (1917)) in 1916.1 He retired from the military, with the rank of Major, late of the Royal Artillery.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Crofton, of Longford House, co. Sligo [U.K., 1838] on 17 September 1926.1
