Sir Arthur Francis Pease, 1st Bt. was born on 11 March 1866.1 He was the son of Arthur Pease and Mary Lecky Pike.2 He married Laura Matilda Ethelwyn Alix, daughter of Charles Peter Alix, on 1 October 1889.1 He died on 23 November 1927 at age 61.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Durham.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Durham.1 He held the office of Second Lord of the Admiralty between 1918 and 1919.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Durham in 1920.1 He was created 1st Baronet Pease, of Hummersknott, Borough of Darlington, co. Durham [U.K.] on 25 June 1920.3
