     Adolph Spreckles III was born on 15 August 1949.3 He was the son of Adolph Spreckles II and Kay Williams.3 He died on 7 January 1977 at age 27 at Hawaii, U.S.A., Debrett's says he was killed in a car crash, but Brewer and Stecyk's Bunker Spreckes: Surfing's Divine Prince of Decadence says he died of a drug overdose.3,2
     Adolph Spreckles III also went by the nick-name of Bunker.3
