     Captain Basil Reginald Hamilton Taylour was born on 8 April 1865.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. Thomas Edward Taylor and Louisa Harrington Tollemache.¹ He married Harriet Mary Osgood, daughter of Colonel Henry B. Osgood, on 17 June 1903.¹ He died on 3 September 1936 at age 71.¹
     Captain Basil Reginald Hamilton Taylour was baptised with the name of Basil Reginald Hamilton Taylor.¹ He fought in the Egyptian War in 1882.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ On 1915 his name was legally changed to Basil Reginald Hamilton Taylour by Deed Poll.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1918.¹ He was decorated with the award of Order of the Crown of Italy.¹ He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Astronomical Society (F.R.A.S.).¹

     Harriet Mary Osgood was the daughter of Colonel Henry B. Osgood.¹ She married, firstly, Major Paul Clendenin before 1903.¹ She married, secondly, Captain Basil Reginald Hamilton Taylour, son of Rt. Hon. Thomas Edward Taylor and Louisa Harrington Tollemache, on 17 June 1903.¹ She died on 8 April 1940.¹
     From before 1903, her married name became Clendenin.¹ From 17 June 1903, her married name became Taylour.¹
