     Reverend William Cobham Gibbs was born on 28 July 1845.1 He was the son of Reverend Joseph Gibbs and Emily Vaughan.1 He married Annie Katharina Downall, daughter of Venerable John Downall, in 1879.1 He died on 14 March 1918 at age 72.1
     He was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was the Vicar in 1873 at St. Andrew's, Exwick, Devon, England.1 He was the Vicar in 1878 at Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was the Rector in 1884 at Hagley, Worcestershire, England.1 He lived at Temple Hill, East Budleigh, Devon, England.

     Joan of Astley, Baroness Astley is the daughter of William of Astley, 4th Lord Astley and Joan Willoughby.1 She married, firstly, Thomas Raleigh.2 She married, secondly, Reynold Grey, 3rd Lord Grey (of Ruthin), son of Reynold de Grey, 2nd Lord Grey (of Ruthin) and Alianore Lestrange, circa 1406.3
      Her married name became Raleigh.2 She succeeded to the title of 5th Baroness Astley [E., 1295] after 1370, by writ, suo jure.2 From circa 1406, her married name became Grey.2

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Leinster Regiment.1
