     Lawrence Makepeace was born in 1586.1 He was the son of Abel Makepeace and Mary Washington.1 He married Elizabeth Croker, daughter of unknown Croker.1 He died on 24 November 1640.1
     Lawrence Makepeace graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1603 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practice as a barrister.1 On 1 March 1610 he bought the reversion of Sulgrave Manor.1 He held the office of Registrar of the High Court of Chancery.1
