Sir Hugh de Croft1

     Sir Hugh de Croft was the son of Sir John de Croft and Catherine (?)1 He married, firstly, Perená de Havering, daughter of Sir John de Havering.1 He married, secondly, Eleanor (?)1 He died in 1317, murdered by the Lacys, to whom he was sent to treat for peace in Ireland.1
     Present at a tournament in Stepney.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1305.1 In 1308 at Dunstable, Bedfordshire, EnglandG, he was present at a tournament.1 He held the office of Constable of Bruges.1 He held the office of Constable of Shrewsbury Castle.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1311.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire in 1311.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Herefordshire in 1312.1 In 1313 he was summoned to raise troops against the Scots.1 In 1315 he was again summoned to raise troops against the Scots.1

     Sir John de Croft is the son of John de Croft.1 He married Janet Glendower, daughter of Owen Glendower.1
     He held the office of Captain of Merk Castle, near Calais.1 He lived at Croft Castle, Herefordshire, EnglandG.1 Between 1402 and 1404 he was frequently employed in negotiations in Flanders.1

     William de Croft is the son of Sir John de Croft and Janet Glendower.1 He married Margaret Walwyn, daughter of Thomas Walwyn.1
     On 9 April 1419 he was pardoned for the death of Thomas Lyngeyn at Leominster.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Herefordshire in 1425.1 In 1428 he summoned to serve in the wars in France.1
