Hew Moncreiffe, 1st of Easter Rhynd is the son of John Moncreiffe, 8th of that Ilk and Janet Strathauchin.1 He married, thirdly, Elisabeth Dischington, daughter of Sir John Dischington of Ardross, in 1524.1

Sir Patrick Murray of Ochtertyre, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 January 1656 at Dollery, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir William Murray, 1st Bt. and Isabel Oliphant.3 He married Margaret Haldane, daughter of Mungo Haldane, 13th of Gleneagles and Anne Grant, on 15 February 1681 at Gleneagles, Scotland.2 He died on 25 December 1735 at age 79.2
He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Murray, of Ochtertyre, co. Perth [N.S., 1673] on 18 February 1681.2
