He married, firstly, Emilie Eleanora Iselin, daughter of Adroian Iselin, on 21 February 1898. He married, secondly, Helen Mason, daughter of Alphonso Mason, on 14 February 1922. He died on 8 May 1925 at age 77.
     John George Beresford lived at Woodhouse, Stradbally, County Waterford, Ireland.
