     Marion Porterfield is the daughter of William Porterfield of Duchal.2 She married Alexander Cuninghame, 4th of Corsehill, son of Cuthbert Cuninghame, 2nd of Corsehill and Mauld Cuninghame.1
     Her married name became Cuninghame.1

     Alexander Cuninghame, 5th of Corsehill was the son of Alexander Cuninghame, 4th of Corsehill and Marion Porterfield.2 He married Mary Houstoun, daughter of John Houstoun of Houston.1 He died circa 1667.1
     In 1663 he settled the family estate of Corsehill on his grandson Alexander and his affianced wife, reserving to himself the life rent.1

     Alexander Cuninghame of Corsehill, 1st Bt. was born circa 1643.1 He was the son of Alexander Cuninghame and Anne Crawford.2 He married Mary Stewart, daughter of John Stewart, circa 1665.1 He died before March 1685.1
     In 1663 his grandfather settled the family estate of Corsehill on him and his affianced wife, reserving to himself the life rent.1 He was ruined by guaranteeing the credit of his cousin, Sir David Cuningham of Robertland, 4th Bt.1 He was created 1st Baronet Cuninghame, of Corsehill, co. Ayr [Nova Scotia] on 26 February 1671/72.1
