     John Crawfurd of Kilbirnie was the son of Hugh Crawfurd. He married Lady Mary Cuninghame, daughter of James Cuninghame, 7th Earl of Glencairn and Margaret Campbell.1 He died in 1629.1

     Margaret Balfour was the daughter of Robert Balfour, Lord Balfour of Burleigh and Margaret Balfour, Baroness Balfour of Burleigh.2,3 She married Sir John Crawfurd of Kilbirnie, 1st Bt., son of John Crawfurd of Kilbirnie and Lady Mary Cuninghame.1 She died, without issue.1
     Her married name became Crawfurd.1
