     Charles Currie was born on 1 July 1829.1 He was the son of Sir Frederick Currie, 1st Bt. and Susannah Larkins.2 He married Marian Upwood, daughter of Reverend T. T. Upwood, on 8 January 1852.1 He died on 3 September 1878 at age 49.1
     He was with the Bengal Civil Service.1
