     James Staples Hawkins was born on 10 February 1837.1 He was the son of James Hawkins and Isabella Law.2 He married Letitia Georgiana Brooke, daughter of George Augustus Frederick Brooke and Lady Arabella Georgina Hastings, on 27 July 1865.1 He died on 9 June 1909 at age 72.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).3 He lived at St. Fentons, Baldoyle, County Dublin, Ireland.3
