     Joseph Burke was born in 1788.1 He was the son of Peter Burke and Anne Dowdall.2 He married Sarah Murphy, daughter of Jeremiah John Murphy and Maria Balfe, on 31 January 1856.1 He died on 13 December 1864, without issue.1
     Joseph Burke was a practising Barrister-at-law.1 He was decorated with the award of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He was Assistant Poor Law Commissioner in April 1839.1 He lived at Elm Hall.1
