     Major Arthur Meredyth Burke was born on 17 August 1872.1 He was the son of Sir John Bernard Burke and Barbara Frances MacEvoy.2 He married Gertrude Caulfield, daughter of James Francis Caulfield, on 9 January 1900.1 He died on 7 April 1920 at age 47.1
     Major Arthur Meredyth Burke gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He wrote the book Key to the Ancient Parish Registers of England and Wales.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.).1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Artillery.3 He was Aide-de-Camp to the General Officer Commanding, Aldershot District between 1914 and 1915.1 He gained the rank of Staff-Captain between 1915 and 1916 in the service of the British Expeditionary Force.1 He was Temporary Major and Deputy Assistant Director, War Office in 1919.1
