James Joicey, 1st Baron Joicey was born on 4 April 1846.1 He is the son of George Joicey and Dorothy Gowland.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Amy Robinson, daughter of Joseph Robinson, on 23 April 1879.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Smyles Drever, daughter of Colonel Thomas Drever and Marguerite de Fontaine, on 21 February 1884.1 He died on 21 November 1936 at age 90.1
