John French1

     John French was the son of Arthur French and Jane Percival.2 He married Alicia Crawford, daughter of Ralph Crawford.1 He died in 1775, drowned together with his brother Robert travelling from Dublin to Parkgate, without issue.1
     John French also went by the nick-name of Shane Dhu Black John.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Roscommon between 1745 and 1775.1 He was on the point of being ennobled as Baron Dungar when he died.2 He lived at French Park, County Roscommon, IrelandG.1
